The WYNNE branch

Caroline WYNNE was our Grandmother. Her father Watkin William WYNNE was a drummer boy in the 2nd Afghan War and almost the last survivor. His drum sticks and medals survive and you can read the exciting accounts recalled by Jack WYNNE here

We remember visiting 'Nan' often on a Saturday after her boys had been to Fratton Park to see Pompey play, and watching her TV set (we didn't have one) which would be showing Grandstand, and it's probably where I saw the first ever Dr Who broadcast in 1963.

I am always glad to receive updates and corrections to  steve@stephencoote.co.uk
